The highly anticipated concert featuring Jamaican reggae sensation “Conkarah” took place on the 12th of October 2024, at Opium, one of Suva’s most vibrant nightclubs.
This event marked a significant celebration of culture, uniting locals and tourists through the universal language of music. With an impressive lineup that included local talents like KUKI, Marama, FoSho, and Vegas 6, the concert showcased a blend of international and Fijian musical heritage.
As attendees filled the venue, the atmosphere was electric with excitement. Conkarah expressed his enthusiasm for performing in Fiji: “It’s an absolute honour to be here for the first time. Connecting with local audiences is what makes these performances special.” His presence not only entertained but also fostered a sense of cultural exchange that resonated throughout the crowd.
KUKI, one of Fiji’s most established musical prodigy, shared his thoughts on the significance of this event. “Sharing the stage with Conkarah is a dream come true. It elevates our music scene and inspires us to reach new heights,” he remarked. His performance aimed to convey messages of unity and joy.
Marama echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing how participating in such events enhances the local music scene. “This concert means everything to us as Fijian artists,” they stated. They anticipated high audience engagement and aimed to create an interactive experience that would leave a lasting impression.
The concert not only celebrated music but also highlighted Fiji’s rich cultural heritage. The lively atmosphere encouraged attendees to engage with both the music and the local community. As Conkarah and local artists performed their hits, the crowd danced and sang along, creating an unforgettable experience.
Looking ahead, excitement builds for the second concert scheduled for October 19 in Nadi. This continuation promises to further unite locals and tourists through music. The Concerts exemplify how music can transcend boundaries and bring people together, showcasing the power of cultural exchange in today’s world.
Our team here at Resonance looks forward to bringing the same vibes and fun to Fiji’s shores once again in the near future.
